Q.: How do I find the driver of the shuttle to the Majorana Centre at the airport?
A.: Just outside the baggage claim (either at Palermo or Trapani airport) look for a driver with a plate bearing the name of the Majorana Centre and the event you are attending. The driver is instructed to collect a group of participants at given time slots during the whole day of September 1.

Q.: Can I get a transfer to/from the Majorana Centre any other day during the workshop?
A.: Yes, just contact the Centre directly to organize the transfer. Call the local number 0923 869 133. The service is NOT free of charge and for this you should pay the Centre (ask for an invoice if you need reimbursement).

Q.: What do I do in case of need or help?
A.: Call the Majorana Centre; dial the local number 0923 869 133 (keep this number with you at all times).

Q.: How about if I drive to Erice?
A.: You can reach Erice by car, but you must leave the car outside the old town in dedicated car parks. Paying at cash machines can be expensive. It is advisable to leave the car at the parking lot located at “Porta Trapani” (Trapani Gate) as indicated on the map (HERE), where you can buy a 7-day permit (12€/week, 1 week minimum); you must have a document that certifies your workshop attendance at the Majorana Centre. Ask the Workshop Director for such a document. Also a photocopy of the vehicle certificate is required. Then you can reach the San Rocco monastery on foot to register and receive lodging information.

Q.: Where the registration will take place?
A.: The registration desk is at the San Rocco monastery (now the Isidor Rabi Institute), home of the Directorate of the Centre. Upon arrival you'll get registered and receive a Welcome Information package.

Q.: Where will I get lodged in Erice?
A.: All participants will be accommodated in rooms at one of the old monasteries owned by the Centre. On arrival the secretary at the San Rocco monastery will assign your accommodation and give you direction.

Q.: Will tap water be drinkable?
A.: Yes. Tap water is drinkable everywhere in Erice. You will have also bottles of mineral water served in your room and replaced everyday by the maid.

Q.: Will lunch and dinner be served in the Centre?
A.: No. Meals will be served at selected restaurants in Erice. The list of restaurants is displayed in the entrance hall at San Rocco monastery. Upon registration you will be given an identification badge (that you must wear at all times during the meeting); to get your meal you will show this badge at one of the chosen restaurants.

Q.: Shall I have to pay for the meals?
A.: No. All meals are covered by your Registration Fees package.

Q.: Where lectures will be held?
A.: Lectures will be held at one of the Lecture Rooms of the Centre. Detailed information will be given with the Welcome Information package upon registration.

Q.: Should I pay for the Sunday excursion and the social dinner?
A.: No. The social programme, that includes a half-day excursion and the social dinner, is fully covered by the Registration Fees package.
